Every single year in the United States, 70 million animals are blinded, maimed, scalded, force-fed chemicals, genetically manipulated, or killed. The United States use approximately 100 million cats and 54 million dogs. Between 10.1 and 16.7 million dogs and cats are put to sleep. Approximately 17-22 million animals are used in research. Mice and rats are 85-90% used in experiments. These numbers are unbelievable high. Animal testing and experiments is the most popular way companies use to develop their products. These numbers are high because, companies choose this way because there are millions of animals out there. But by using animal testing it can be very expensive. Paying for a lab to perform animal testing can cost you, roughly between $10000-$75000. This is extremely expensive and unreasonable to be destroying animal lives when there is other ways.
It was finally proven that there are alternative way that seem more humane, reliable, and less expensive. Instead of companies using million animals for hundreds of test, there are other ways that the product can be tested. Even alternative ways are less expensive; it pays off even more when your saving a life. For example a company can use: -Chemical assay test -Tissue culture systems -Cell and organ cultures -Cloned human skin cells -Human skin patches -Computer and mathematical models
The companies that do not use animal testing refer to these alternative options. Companies that use the secondary methods are saving animal lives, and saving money. By just using animals for a use of testing is wasting money and wasting lives. Why spend all the money, when a company can save and save a life? Finding Alternatives to Animal Testing
